Cala Mariolu
Cala Mariolu is one of the most beautiful beach in Sardinia, located in the Gulf of Orosei. It is famous for its crystal clear turquoise water, white sandy beach, and impressive limestone cliffs. The beach is surrounded by a series of small bays that you can explore by swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking. The water is calm and shallow, safe for children, but the sand is coarse-grained, so for sensitive people it is worth taking swimming shoes. Beautiful cliffs are a great incentive to climb, and the azure water invites you to dive. Despite frequent visits by tourists, Cala Mariolu is still a wild beach, where you must take your supplies (umbrella and food) with you. The beach can be reached by boat from Arbatax, Cala Gonone, or Santa Maria Navarrese. There is also a hiking trail leading to the beach, but it is difficult and demanding. The surrounding beaches, such as Cala Goloritze, Cala Gabiani, and others in the Genargentu massif, are equally spectacular, so it is worth devoting a day to visiting at least three of them. The views are breathtaking, so we highly recommend it.
